LeagueApps + Players Health

Players Health

LeagueApps has partnered with Players Health, an insurance and athlete safety company built specifically for sports organizations, to give you a fast, direct path to the right coverage for your organization. You can request a free, no-obligation quote right from your admin console.

This article explains what Players Health offers, what's covered, how to get a quote, and how organization-level insurance differs from the registration insurance families can buy at checkout.

What is Players Health?

Players Health is a licensed managing general agency that specializes exclusively in youth and amateur athletics. They insure sports organizations across all 50 states, including clubs, leagues, camps, tournaments, facilities, and training programs. Every policy is underwritten by a sports-specialist team that understands your sport, your venues, and your risk.

Every policy also includes their athlete safety platform at no added cost: ready-to-adopt safety policies, emergency action plans, a Safety Library of guidebooks and operating standards, and an Athlete Safety Score. Their view is that safer organizations have fewer claims, so your safety investment can be reflected in your rates.

Why it's worth a quote

Insurance is one of the fastest-rising costs in youth sports, and most organizations are underinsured without knowing it. Many buy through generalist brokers who have no visibility into how a sports organization actually operates, so the coverage doesn't always fit how you run.

Even if you already have coverage, a free second quote is worth it: it either confirms you're covered correctly or shows you a gap you didn't know about. The quote is free, comes with no obligation, and is open to any youth or adult sports organization.

Coverage types

Every policy is placed through Players Health and written by underwriters who work only in sports. Coverage includes:

  • General Liability — per-occurrence and aggregate protection for bodily injury and property damage. This is the coverage your facilities and sanctioning bodies typically require.
  • Participant Accident — medical expense coverage for injuries athletes sustain in practices, games, and sanctioned events.
  • Abuse & Molestation — coverage for one of the most serious risks a youth sports organization can face.
  • Equipment — protection for goals, mats, uniforms, and other gear your program owns, whether at your facility or on the road.
  • Tournaments & Events — short-term coverage for the tournaments, camps, clinics, and showcases you host throughout the year.
⚠️ Not sure what your organization needs? A Players Health advisor can review your current coverage and recommend the right policies for your sport, size, and state.

How it works

There are three steps from start to covered, with no phone calls or paperwork:

  1. Tell them about your organization. Answer about five minutes of sports-specific questions about your organization, sports, and seasons.
  2. Get a tailored quote. Receive a bindable quote in under 24 hours, built around your participants, venues, and risk profile.
  3. Bind coverage and download certificates. Purchase online the same day, then download certificates of insurance on demand, including additional insured certificates for facilities, municipalities, and sanctioning bodies.

How to get a quote

You can start a quote directly from your admin console:

  1. In your admin console, go to Integrations.
  2. Click Get an Insurance Quote.
  3. Answer the sports-specific questions. The quote takes about five minutes and comes with no obligation.

Players Health vs. Vertical Insure

LeagueApps offers two different kinds of insurance, and they're complementary rather than competing. Think of them as two levels:

  • Players Health is organization-level coverage — your organization's own insurance, such as general liability, participant accident, abuse & molestation, equipment, and events.
  • Vertical Insure is participant-level registration insurance — optional protection families can purchase at registration checkout, such as registration cancellation.

If the question is about protecting your organization, that's Players Health. If it's about protection families can buy during registration, that's Vertical Insure.

FAQ

Who is the insurance provider?

Players Health is a licensed managing general agency (MGA) specializing exclusively in youth and amateur athletics. All policies are placed through A-rated carriers and underwritten by specialists who know your sport.

What makes Players Health different?

Most programs pay claims after something goes wrong; Players Health also helps you prevent them. Every insured gets a Safety Library of sport-specific guidebooks and operating standards, and because they underwrite this space exclusively, safety implementation factors directly into how your program is priced.

What safety resources do I get as an insured?

Your program includes a Safety Library of guidebooks and operating standards (covering premises and surface inspection, background checks, ACL and injury prevention, transportation, aquatics, childcare, and more), a safety and claims assessment that informs your Athlete Safety Score, and preferred access to vetted safety partners.

How long does it take to get a quote?

Most organizations receive a tailored quote in under 24 hours. You'll need basic details about your organization — sport type, number of participants, venues, and season dates.

Can I download certificates of insurance (COIs)?

Yes. Once your policy is bound, you can log in to SafetyHub to access COIs without calling a broker. Facility managers and sanctioning bodies can be added as additional insureds.

What happens if I need to file a claim?

Claims are handled directly through Players Health. You submit claims in the Claims portal, and Players Health provides support where it's needed.

Do I have to change my LeagueApps setup?

No. This is a standalone integration, so your programs, registrations, and schedules stay exactly as they are. Insurance is managed from the Integrations page.
