Importing Abandoned Registrations into Email Tools

Step 1: Export your list of Abandoned Registrants from LeagueApps.

Depending on what your marketing goals are, you may want to only target the Abandoned Users list (potential participants who created an account and never joined a program) OR the Abandoned Registrants (potential participants who created an invoice, but did not pay for a specific program).

Step 2: Import your contacts into your email marketing tool (Ex: MailChimp, Hubspot, etc.)

It is best practice to clean up the data and field headers before importing contacts into your marketing platform. Some of the most important fields to capture may include Name, Email (Make this the Parent email for youth programs), Cell (Make this the Parent Cell for Youth Programs), Address, Abandoned Program (if applicable).

Step 3: Segment your contacts to keep track of your campaigns.

We suggest general segments like “Abandoned Registrants” or a program-specific segment like “Abandoned Registrants - <Insert Program Name>” to help track your campaigns. Other terms for segment include tags, buckets, cohorts, lists, etc.

Step 4: Send out your marketing email!

Some ways you can drive conversions of your abandoned registrations is offering a gift card, discount code, or free swag!
