You can schedule a message from the Messaging Center to send at a later date and time, or save it as a draft and finish it later. Scheduling and drafts work for emails, text messages, and mobile app announcements.
To get started, click Messaging, then Compose a Message. Your drafts and scheduled messages are on the Drafts & Scheduled sends tab at the top of that page.

Schedule a message
Write your message and choose your recipients the same way you would for any message. See the article Compose a Bulk Message to your Members for those steps. Then:
- Below the editor, under Choose when to send, select Schedule for later.
- Pick a Date, a Time, and a Time zone. The time zone starts on your site's time zone, and you can change it.
- Click Schedule this message.
- In the Message Confirmation window, check the recipient count and the send date, then click Schedule It!
You'll land on the Drafts & Scheduled sends tab, where your message now appears in the Scheduled list.
⚠️ Send times are in 15-minute increments. A message has to be scheduled at least 5 minutes ahead and no more than 1 year ahead.
Scheduling a mobile app announcement
If you checked Also display as an announcement in the mobile apps, the announcement goes out with the message at the scheduled time. Its expiration date has to be on or after the send date.
Save a draft
- Under Choose when to send, select Save as draft.
- Click Save this draft.
- In the Message Confirmation window, click Save Draft.
A draft keeps your message content and the recipients you selected, so you can pick up where you left off. Nothing is sent until you open the draft and send or schedule it.
Find your drafts and scheduled sends
Click Messaging, then Compose a Message, then the Drafts & Scheduled sends tab. It has two lists: Scheduled and Drafts.
Scheduled
Messages waiting to send, with the soonest at the top. Each row shows:
- Subject: click it to open the message.
- Sends on: the date, time, and time zone the message will send, for example Wed, Oct 29, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT. A dot next to the time means the message sends within the next four hours.
- Created by: the admin who scheduled it.
- Actions: the menu with Edit, Reschedule, and Cancel send.
Drafts
Messages you've saved but not sent, with the most recently edited at the top. Each row shows the Subject, Last edited, Created by, and an Actions menu with Edit and Delete.
⚠️ Drafts and scheduled messages are shared across your site. Any admin who can open the Messaging Center can see, edit, reschedule, cancel, or delete them.
Change a scheduled message
On the Scheduled list, open the Actions menu next to the message and choose one of the options below.
Edit the content or recipients
- Choose Edit, or click the message subject. The message opens in the editor with its content and recipients filled in.
- Make your changes.
- Keep Schedule for later selected and adjust the time if needed, or choose Send now.
- Click Schedule this message or Send this message, then confirm.
Your edited version replaces the original, so recipients won't get two copies.
If some of the original recipient choices can't be filled back in, for example a program that's no longer available, a yellow warning at the top of the page lists them. Choose those recipients again before you send.
Reschedule
- Choose Reschedule.
- Pick a new Date, Time, and Time zone. If the message includes a mobile app announcement, check the expiration date too.
- Click Reschedule. To back out, click Keep current time.
Cancel the send
- Choose Cancel send.
- Click Cancel send to confirm, or Keep it scheduled to back out.
The message moves to your Drafts list and won't send. To send it later, open the draft and send or schedule it again.
⚠️ Once a message starts sending, you can't edit, reschedule, or cancel it.
Finish or delete a draft
Finish a draft
- On the Drafts list, choose Edit from the Actions menu, or click the subject.
- Finish your message and check your recipients.
- Under Choose when to send, select Send now or Schedule for later, then send or schedule it as usual.
Once you send or schedule it, the draft leaves the Drafts list. To keep working on it instead, select Save as draft again and the draft updates.
Delete a draft
- On the Drafts list, choose Delete from the Actions menu.
- Click Delete draft to confirm.
Deleted drafts can't be recovered.
FAQ
Who can see my drafts and scheduled messages?
Every admin on your site who can open the Messaging Center. The Created by column shows who saved or scheduled each one.
If someone registers after I schedule a message, will they get it?
Yes. Recipients are based on the filters you chose, and the list is built when the message sends. Members who join a program you selected before the send time are included, and members who are no longer in it are left out.
What time zone does a scheduled message use?
The one you pick in the Time zone field. It starts on your site's time zone. The Sends on column shows the time in the zone you chose.
How close to the scheduled time will my message send?
Your message starts sending within a few minutes after the time you picked. Large recipient lists take as long to deliver as any other bulk message.
Can I schedule a game cancellation?
No. Game cancellations send right away. If you try to schedule one, you'll see a message asking you to send it now or turn off the game cancellation option.
Can I schedule a text message?
Yes. Texts, emails, or both can be scheduled or saved as drafts. The usual text message rules, including the 160-character limit, still apply.
Can I change a message after it starts sending?
No. Once sending starts, the message is locked. If you open it, you'll see a notice that it can no longer be changed.
Where do I find a scheduled message after it sends?
It leaves the Scheduled list. You can track it like any other email: click Messaging, then View All Sent Emails.
My scheduled message didn't send. What happened?
If a scheduled message can't be sent, it won't appear in the Scheduled or Drafts list. Contact LeagueApps Support with the subject and the time it was scheduled, and we'll look into it.
