Team Builder for Recreation Programs

Team Builder helps you quickly organize registered players into balanced teams using a visual drag-and-drop interface. Instead of spending hours in spreadsheets, you can build teams in minutes while viewing all your player data and team rosters simultaneously.

This tool is designed for recreation programs where players are already registered and you need to assign them to teams.

This new feature for recreation programs is currently rolling out to partners—please notify the LeagueApps team if you would like this turned on for your account.

Step 1: Navigate To Team Builder

Team Builder can be accessed from two locations in your program:

1. Go to a Program, and if the program is grouped then select a subprogram (age group or division). Then click the Teams menu tab, where you can click the new Launch Team Builder button.

2. Or you can go to a Program, and if the program is grouped then select a subprogram (age group or division). Then click the People menu tab, where you can click the new Launch Team Builder button.

⚠️ The Team Builder is NOT available at the grouped program level and you have to access it at the subprogram level (a subprogram is often an age group or division for rec leagues).

Step 2: Select Teams To Work With

When Team Builder opens, you’ll see all teams in your program listed on the right side. By default, up to 10 teams are displayed for easy viewing.

If you have more than 10 teams, use the team selection controls at the top to choose which teams you want to work with during this session.

Filter Players

Use the dropdown filters to narrow down players by specific criteria like age group, school district, or any custom form field responses.
