4 Simple Steps to Get Started with Next-Gen Tournaments

Set up a Next-Gen Tournament and start collecting Registrations in a few easy steps:

Step 1: Set Up Your Global Payment and Refund Policy

  1. In the LeagueApps Management Console, go to the Settings menu dropdown.
  2. Under Registration Settings, click the Waivers tab.
  3. Fill in the Payment Waiver that all users registering a team and making payments will accept at checkout.

Step 2: Set Up Your Tournament

  1. Set your Tournament Name, and add details about your tournament.
  2. In the About section, be sure to add images, videos, formatted content and more to promote your tournament.

Step 3: Set Up a Division (Subprogram)

  1. You’ll be prompted to create at least one Division. Your Division will become open for Registration based on the dates set in the Registration details section. If no dates are set, the division will be open for registration immediately.
  2. Use the new Registration Options to set division pricing, capacity, age limits, messaging preferences and more.
  3. Set up the Waivers and Form Fields you want to collect for the team as well as players and staff that join teams in this division. The Team Representative staff role can be targeted for questions that the team registrar may not be equipped to answer during team registration.
    1. Note that in the Next-Gen solution we already collect some additional Team information such as Organization, Location and Team Age so these do not need to be set up as additional form field questions.
  4. Set up any additional divisions—manually or using our copy program feature on your division dashboard

Step 4: Set Up Your Payment Options

The Next-Gen Tournament payment options allow you to solve for any payment configuration that you need to offer registrants.. You build these different payment options at the Tournament level and they are automatically applied across all divisions

  1. From your Tournament dashboard, go to the Settings dropdown and click Payment Options. This tool allows you to set up installment-based payment options quickly and with lots of flexibility.
  2. You can disable the option for registrants to Pay in full at checkout if you require them to use an installment-based payment option.
  3. You can use the Single Installment option with a future due date to enable a deferred payment or pay later option.
  4. You can set up discounts and specify the user emails that should receive them. (Note that code based discounts are not supported for Next-Gen Tournaments at this time but will be available by the end of September 2024)
  5. You can set early and late fees by coupling payment price adjustments with the setting to make a payment option available between specific dates.
