Weighting for each Type of Game Result
You can indicate how many "standings points" should be assigned to a team for each type of game result. When standings are tabulated, each team is assigned "standings points" for each game. The teams are then ranked in order based on standings points. The team with the most standings points is ranked #1.Customizing the weighting of these lets you decide how important each game result type should be relative to others. For example, if you want to reward wins but not reward ties, you could assign 2 points for a WIN, but 0 points for a TIE. If you do want to reward a TIE, you could assign it 1 point.
Tie-breaker Rules
Sometimes, 2 or more teams will end up having the same number of standings points. In order to resolve a ranking for these teams, a "tie-breaker rule" is used to compare two teams and determine a "winner". You can specify three cascading tie-breaker rules. If the first tie-breaker rule cannot determine a winner, the second is used, and so on.There are a few tie-breaker rules supported:
- Team with more points: the team who has scored more points in games
- Team with more wins: the team who has won more games
- Team with less points scored against: the team who has been scored against less
- Team with more standings points for: the team with a higher value of 'standings points for'
- Team with higher points scored differential: the team with a higher value of 'points scored differential'
- Head-to-head: the team with more wins, in games where these teams played each other
Fields to be Displayed in Standings Table
The standings table displays a lot of fields by default, some of which you might not want to display. You can easily control which fields are displayed on the table by toggling on/off each field.NOTICE: You can choose to include/exclude Playoff and Championship games in the standings calculations.
