- Website Payments Pro comes bundled with a Merchant Account. This is the more common, simpler, and cheaper solution to set up.
- Alternately, Payflow Pro is the best choice if you already have an existing merchant account you'd like to use.
Step 1: Setup and Verify PayPal Website Payments Pro
You will need to have a verified and active PayPal Website Payments Pro account. In order to confirm this, we suggest that you perform a small (eg. $0.01) test transaction with a real credit card using the PayPal Virtual Terminal before attempting to hook up your account with LeagueApps. This is done by logging in at paypal.com and clicking the Virtual Terminal link under the Tools section in the middle of the page.CAUTION: If the transaction fails, it means your account is not fully activated. Call Website Payments Pro support at (866) 837-1851.
Step 2: Retrieve Your PayPal API Credentials
You need to retrieve or generate PayPal API credentials for your Website Payments Pro account, including your API Signature. Follow these steps to accomplish this:- Log in at paypal.com.
- Click on the Profile link under the My Account tab.
- Under the Account Information section, click on Request API Credentials.
- Next, follow the instructions to access or generate your API Signature. Usually, this means that under Option 2, you’ll select Request API Credentials (or View API Signature if already generated).
Step 3: Enter Your PayPal API Credentials Into LeagueApps
Once you retrieve your API credentials (API Username, API Password, Signature) from your PayPal account, you're ready to enter them into LeagueApps:- Log in to your Manager Console.
- Click on the Manage Account tab in the upper left.
- Under Merchant Services, click the Setup button.
- Once on the Merchant Payment Gateway Setup page, make sure you select the correct payment gateway from the drop-down list. Then, enter your credentials and click save.
Congrats! Your account is ready to accept online transactions!
