Add Tweet Buttons to your Program Pages

Last Updated: Jul 29, 2014 10:44AM EDT

LeagueApps has integrated Twitter into the platform to allow you to easily promote your organization and site activities.  The first step in Twitter integration is the placement of Tweet buttons on all program pages on your LeagueApps site.

NOTICE: Each program has a Tweet button included in its program page by default. You can decide if you want to remove Tweet buttons for any program.

Follow these steps to edit the Twitter setting on your program page:
  1. Go to the “Manage” tab in your LeagueApps Manager console
  2. Scroll to a program on the program dashboard page. Hover over a program and click “Registration Options” on the quick-link menu.
  3. Click “Preferences” under the “Settings” sub-menu.
  4. Click the checkbox that reads “Include Tweet button”
  5. Hit “Save Preferences”

Once a program is created and a Tweet button is placed on a program page, any site visitor (member or non-member) can see the button and click it.  A default tweet will then appear with a link to the program page URL.  When someone clicks the Tweet button, he/she has the option to customize the tweet.  The tweet is then sent directly from the program page and into the twitter feed for all Twitter followers to see.

NOTICE: If you customize your tweet, be sure to keep the content to 140 characters or less. Bit.ly was used to shorten the page link in each tweet, making this process easier for the user.
