How To Add a widget to a Wordpress Site

A good amount of our partners use Wordpress to build out their external sites. The steps below will show you how to add LeagueApps widgets to your Wordpress site.

Learn more about widgets here.

Step 1
Select Content and then under the sub-menu click Widgets.

Step 2

Scroll down to find the type of widget you want to add. Then edit the drop down menus to target the specific code you want. In this case I've altered the registration listing to give me a code that will only show certain programs.

Step 4
Copy everything in-between where it says <script and </script>

Step 5
Log in to your Wordpress site by typing www.yourdomainhere.com/wp-admin and then putting in your username and password

Step 6

Once you're logged in to Wordpress click pages and then all pages.

Step 7

Find the page you want to edit by scrolling and then click edit. In this case I'm editing the registration page.

Step 8

Once you're on the page make sure you click the text tab in the upper right corner.

Step 9

In the text field find where you'd like the widget to go and paste it. Sometimes spacing may be necessary in which case add a </br> code or two. That will put some space between the widget and other things you may have on the page.

Step 10

Click on preview to see what the widget will look like on the page.

Step 11

Click Update to save your changes. Now you're done! Here's the end result of what I was working on.
